Some Things About Me
When I was a small child, I was alone quit a bit. I had no siblings and no television. I had to find creative ways to entertain myself. I did this by playing school. I was the teacher to my very own classroom of imaginary students. Little did I know, I would be doing this for the rest of my life! I was preparing and practicing long before I entered college.
I have now been a teacher for 15 years. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, I got my first job in Anahuac, Tx. This is where I followed my brand new husband, David Minnix. We both taught and coached at this school for two years. We made great friends there and still visit often.
We finally came home to East Texas where I taught Elementary Physical Education at ArpISD for 6 years while coaching various sports. Then I moved to the High School to teach English and coach volleyball. After I had my third daughter, I realized I didn’t need to coach anymore, I needed to focus on my family. I got a job in 2006 at Troup High School and I still teach English.
